Abstract:The Muslim scholars across the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh paid a great attention to promote the Arabic language and Islamic sciences when Islam came to India.Some intellectuals took attempt to establish a different Arabic and Islamic cultural learning centers, schools, colleges and universities across the state. Consequently, a large number of learning institutions, colleges and universities had been established. As far as Hyderabad city is concerned there were established a large number of institutions and one of them is Jamia Haramain Sharifain Arabic English Islamic Model institution of higher learning, which has been recently established by a prominent Arab and Islamic scholar Professor Syed Jahangir (Dean of Arab and Asian Studies, EFLU- Hyderabad). The aim of this paper is to shed a light on the role and contribution of this institution within a very short period of time to the promotion of Arabic language and literature by highlighting the vision, purpose, academic activities and ongoing courses in eleven-twelve different institutes of the Jamia.
